How To Make Your Own Glow-In-The-Dark Yarn
While preparing this months glow themed MyFUNvelopes we had to get a little creative when we couldn't find glow-in-the-dark yarn for one of our crafts. With a little help from google we found a fun and simple way. Its basically just dying the yarn with some glow in the dark paint.
What You Need
- White Yarn
- Glow-in-the-dark Craft Paint
- Container for dying
The Process
First take the 3oz bottle of glow in the dark paint and pour it all into the container you will dye the yarn in (we used a ice cream pail). Add 1/4 of a cup of water and stir. Now add the yarn and squeeze it till it is all saturated with the paint and water mixture. Squeeze out any excess and let the yarn dry. This can take a little while. Once it's dry its ready to use. It will be a little stiff but once its played with a little it softens up.
This yarn is fun to craft with and would also make some neat crochet and knitting projects.
